While the Outlander Season 3 premiere is just three months away, onscreen couple Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe shared three things to look forward to in the upcoming installment. Reports also claimed that it would have more bedroom scenes and nudity, leaving fans thrilled with the thought of peeking at Jamie’s ripped torso again.
Everyone should not despair because the third season of the popular time-travel drama is set to be packed with action and drama. Author Diana Gabaldon previously assured that the new outing closely followed the book. She also revealed that it would be solving a major mystery in the novel that left readers baffled.
Three Things to Expect in Outlander Season 3
For those who have not seen the latest clip of Heughan and Balfe, the onscreen lovers are dressed in their 18th century attire as they dropped some scoops about Outlander Season 3. The two said, “We’re very excited to let you know we only have three weeks left of filming, it’s three months until the premiere and because of that, we’re going to give you three things to look forward to.” You can check the video below.
Balfe divulged the first hint, stating, “Well, I’m going to say you can look forward to some soup.” The turtle soup scene from Voyager novel happened when Jamie took care of Claire, who suffered from a fever caused by an infection. The Scotsman fed her alcohol-laced soup, which eventually made her drunk. Claire then enforced her husband to have sex with her, but Jamie was reluctant because of her situation.
Sam Heughan revealed the second thing that everyone should look forward. He yelled after Balfe said the first hint, saying, “Print Shop!” The particular scene refers to the location where Jamie and Claire finally reunited after 20 years of separation. Balfe promised in an interview that sex would still be steamy and hot even though the time-crossed lovers have aged. She admitted, “In terms of the sex, I think old people have good sex too, last I heard!”
The third thing fans can expect from Season 3 is the “lovely bunches of coconuts.” Balfe might be referring to Jamaica, where Jamie and Claire headed in the latter part of the novel. In the new place, the couple started a new action-packed adventure. Outlander returns to the television screens this September.
Speculations and Questions about the Third Season of Outlander
In a bid to help fans deal with the long droughtlander, there are speculations on what will be coming next in the TV series. Based on the books, Jamie and Claire’s marital relationship is going to get even more complicated. It can be recalled that the couple separated ways in Season 2. It was a heartbreaking moment as the Scottish warrior forced his wife back through the Standing Stones in a bid to protect her from the battle.
After falling back through time, the nurse will return to her husband Frank – who is left doubtful over her absence. While Claire tries to fix her marriage with her first husband, Jamie is set to marry Laoghaire MacKenzie. No doubt, things will get more complicated between the time-crossed lovers when she does finally show up after 20 years.
Another question among the readers is whether the TV series will spare Black Jack Randall on screen. It is known that in the opening pages of the Voyager book, the Outlander villain is very much dead. The third season will also display the bloody fight between Jamie and Captain Jack, as revealed in the photos from the upcoming run released last year.
Lastly, fans should be ready for more bedroom scenes and nudity in Outlander Season 3. Balfe previously revealed that the highly anticipated print shop scene would be worth the wait as it would feature more sexual intimacy between Jamie and Claire. She said, “I think it’s really special. Maybe they’ll have to wait a little bit, but I don’t think it’s going to be as scarce as last season, shall we say?”
