Jamie & Claire on the deck of the Artemis with a take out coffee…hmmmm I don’t think they had such types of cups in the 18th Century. Claire must have too a quick trip back through the stones for that coffee break 😂

Outlander Just Cast Marsali, Check Her Out

Outlander has been busy gearing up for Season 3 over the last few months. Anyone who is a little bit familiar with Diana Gabaldon’s “Voyager” novel should know that the series is about to introduce a few brand new characters that will continue to be important throughout the show’s history. Marsali has finally been cast and she will be played by none other than Lauren Lyle. You can check out the newcomer actress, below.

Lauren Lyle hasn’t popped up in a slew of TV series, yet, which is why we don’t have a better look at the actress, who has appeared in guest stints on programs like Broken and Holby City. Her role on Outlander will be much bigger, however. Marsali isn’t a main character on the series by any means, but she will be super important to the events in Season 3. In addition, she becomes a key player later on in theOutlander novels and should be important to the Starz series.

We’re about to get into book spoilers related to Diana Gabaldon’s novels, so if you’d like to go into the TV series’ third season with a fresh perspective, now is a great time to bail and check out one of our other wonderful articles.

Marsali is a character who becomes important to the storyline after Claire returns to her own time and Jamie returns from prison. She’s the daughter of Laoghaire, who has had a slightly larger role in the TV series than in the books. I don’t want to get too deeply into why Laoghaire returns to the plot, but Marsali does become important because she falls in love with a grown Fergus. The actress will be 18 when we meet her as part of the “Voyager” timeline.

Speaking of Fergus, Starz has also revealed that the show has found an adult actor to play the older version of Fergus. It’s still likely we’ll see some of young Fergus during Season 3, but eventually timelines will force the cheeky character to be replaced by someone older. César Domboy has been signed on in the role. You may have seen the actor in the French projects Borgia and Resistance.

Outlander: Meet Fergus as an adult | EW.com

Remember the adorable Fergus, who played the pickpocketing French kid taken in by Jamie and Claire in season 2 of Outlander?

Good news, fans: the character will be back when the drama returns for a third season on Starz — and he’ll be a grown-up! EW has learned exclusively that César Domboy (The Walk) will take over the role when the story jumps ahead two decades in the new season.

Here’s the official description of his character from Starz: “Born into a brothel, Fergus has grown up into a charming, devilishly handsome man with a strong sense of loyalty and decorum, despite his unconventional upbringing. He is the ultimate romantic, wearing his heart on his sleeve and falling in and out of love easily. However, Fergus’ devotion to Jamie has never wavered, making the Frenchman an integral part of the Fraser clan. Still, his debonair demeanor masks a longing for a lasting love and a permanent sense of belonging.”

The role was previously played by the adorable Romann Berrux, a French actor who stole the hearts of fans (and the wallets of unsuspecting fools in that French brothel).

Domboy, 26, has been working in film, TV, and theater in France for years. Besides his appearance in Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk, he also appeared in season 2 of The Borgias.

Domboy is one of several new actors who will join the ensemble when the drama returns sometime in 2017. (Sadly, Starz won’t reveal the exact date of its much-anticipated comeback). Among the new additions: Wil Johnson (Waking the Dead), who will play Claire’s close friend and medical colleague Joe Abernathy when the drama focuses on 1960s Boston; John Bell (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), who will assume the role of Jamie’s nephew Ian Murray; and David Berry, who will play Lord John Grey, a former British soldier-turned-Ardsmuir prison governor.

According to IMDB.com David is 6' 1" tall and grew up in Australia where he spent his early years as a singer and violinist, attending school on a music scholarship. After high school he attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), graduating in 2010. His first acting role in television was in 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries' then later, 'Home and Away'. His first major role was in the television series 'A Place To Call Home' in which he played the character, James Bligh.
For those who don't already know Lord John Grey is a former British soldier that becomes the Governor of  Ardsmuir prison where Jamie Fraser (Outlander lead male character played by Sam Heughan) is captured 7 years after the battle of Culloden and is imprisoned.  They pair strike up an unlikely friendship that lasts for many years.  Lord John is an integral part of the book series and this role could last for some years to come for Mr. Berry.
This is the official character description from Starz.

He’s a steadfast and honorable British subject, torn between a finely-honed sense of familial duty and a strong moral compass of right and wrong. He is boyishly handsome with an upper class rearing — the consummate gentleman. However, a scandal from his past has relegated Lord John to an undesirable position as governor of a desolate prison in Northern Scotland.
