David Berry cast as Lord John Grey
According to IMDB.com David is 6' 1" tall and grew up in Australia where he spent his early years as a singer and violinist, attending school on a music scholarship. After high school he attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), graduating in 2010. His first acting role in television was in 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries' then later, 'Home and Away'. His first major role was in the television series 'A Place To Call Home' in which he played the character, James Bligh.
For those who don't already know Lord John Grey is a former British soldier that becomes the Governor of  Ardsmuir prison where Jamie Fraser (Outlander lead male character played by Sam Heughan) is captured 7 years after the battle of Culloden and is imprisoned.  They pair strike up an unlikely friendship that lasts for many years.  Lord John is an integral part of the book series and this role could last for some years to come for Mr. Berry.
This is the official character description from Starz.

He’s a steadfast and honorable British subject, torn between a finely-honed sense of familial duty and a strong moral compass of right and wrong. He is boyishly handsome with an upper class rearing — the consummate gentleman. However, a scandal from his past has relegated Lord John to an undesirable position as governor of a desolate prison in Northern Scotland.

Speculations, Rumors & Droughtlander

In the words of Jamie Fraser, “will it ever stop the wanting you”.

The “you” I am referring to is Outlander the TV series on Starz.  Holy Lawwwd they are making us wait forever it seems.  But as the saying goes all good things come to those who wait.

During this Droughtlander  there have been rumors and speculations flying about the interweb about who will be cast as the next dashing couple, Roger Wakefield MacKenzie and Brianna Randall Fraser.

A recent  retweet of @AnglophileTV from Outlander’s Sam Heughan has everyone speculating about Sophie Turner of Game of Thrones as Brianna.

Honestly, although I think she would make a lovely Bree, I don’t see that happening because Sophie seems to have her hands full playing Sansa Stark.

The second season of the Outlander saga is suppose to follow the  second book in the series, Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon.  This book/season will have many new characters as Jamie & Claire set off to Paris and try their hand at stopping the Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Some of these characters have been cast and names released in prior months but nothing has been said about  Roger, Bree or young Lord John Grey. These three characters are very important and will be in pretty much every new season (if/when renewed) of Outlander.

Showrunner Ron Moore and the gods of the Outlander world have been verra hush hush about these three characters.

There have been many names thrown around the Twitterverse by fans.  Many are campaigning for Richard Rankin  to play Roger others are vying for Kevin Ryan.  For Brianna I’ve seen  Deborah Ann Woll name thrown around and she’s most known for her role in True Blood  but of course nothing has been confirmed or denied.

I’m sure whoever the Outlander casting crew chooses for these part will be perfect. They’ve done an awesome job so far.  I say, leave it for the professionals to decide.  I just can’t wait until spring 2016 when we get to see it all unfold.

In the meantime, we can all watch our full season 1 of Outlander on DVD or Bluray with all the outtakes, bloopers and extras over and over, play with our Pop Vinyl Outlander figures and soon we’ll be able to color in our Outlander coloring books.

So there is plenty to keep us going through this long Droughtlander.  Only 5 more months to go!
