“Outlander” star Richard Rankin is nervous yet excited about his first-ever solo photography exhibition.
The one-night-only event, titled “His Mind’s Eye,” will be taking place in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 27, featuring over two dozen prints the Scottish actor has taken while exploring U.S. cities such as New York, San Francisco, Nashville and Los Angeles.
Rankin creates a new category of ‘delicacy,’ challenges the sensitivity of the senses, and leaves exciting thoughts in the viewer’s mind,” according to a press release.

The actor spoke with Fox News about why he decided to focus on cityscapes and landscapes, how it was difficult to edit himself down to only a handful of photos from thousands, and what fans can look out for on the next season of “Outlander.”
Rankin said he started taking photography seriously about nine years ago and has improved drastically over the years. “I thought it was really great taking pictures of all the buildings in New York and Chicago but most them were garbage,” he joked.
What’s interesting is that he went back during his recent trips and reshot all those landmarks to prove to himself how much his skills have developed and grown over time. Those shots are some of the prints which are going to be displayed.
