Outlander follows Claire Randall, a former English WWII nurse through an adventure that begins in the Scottish Highlands where she and her husband, Frank are enjoying a second honeymoon. When she is somehow thrown back in time to 1743 during the Jacobite uprisings. Confused and disoriented she taken by some Highlanders after a run in with Redcoats. Where she uses her nursing skills to help one of the young highlanders named Jamie who has been injured fighting with the Redcoats. She is then taken back to the Highlanders home at Castle Leoch and that is just the beginnings of all her troublesome adventures.
